A really good event, well organized and executed. The event was organized by The LAx Paperboys & Broccoli City with Jenesis Magazine as the Media Sponsor. The performances were fantastic, but the people are who make the event happen, so we decided to highlight a few of the people that made the event a success. We Angelenos are so dapper. Dear Sophia Kercher, we are not an urban company and we do not understand the correlation between N.W.A. and the style of clothing we offer to consumers. There is nothing about Prep Jerks that resembles N.W.A or Urban wear except for one obvious assumption. Although your article did not profile us Per se, it does have similarities to articles written by journalists who have drawn a media driven misconception of Los Angeles street wear. The mini tub is complete.

If you follow us then you know that we did a mock up of the PJLA Nova which can be found (here). Well the Nova has been in the shop for the past week or so getting a mini tub done in order to fit some 295′s or 305′s in the back, which in layman’s terms just mean putting tires that are as wide as Porsche tires on a Nova. Today Sito and I headed down to Sire Custom Performance to meet with Yannick and check out the progress that’s been made on the Nova, and also to drool over the ridiculously cool cars that are seen throughout the shop.

Monday was an eventful morning. Our good friend Tim invited me to go hiking in the hills near Pacific Palisades Wednesday and I gladly accepted, even though when he showed up at my door I had completely forgot. Never the less, I got up, got ready and we headed out. It is really surprising how many things are in LA that people have never experienced when its relatively right in our backyards. The hike was a tough two mile uphill trek, plenty of scenery so it never got you down. We reached the half way point and noticed a small stream with some really clean, clear looking water. NOW!, I don’t suggest anyone do this but, Tom decided that the water was clean enough to drink and not have the shits for two days. He proceeded to fill a cup full of the water and began to chug the water. He easily talked Tim and I into drinking some, so we did. I only took a small sip, if there were any parasites in the water I only drank a couple and my body can fight them off. We ended the hike with a beautiful panoramic view of Los Angeles, what a great trip.

Great news, if you read the post prior to today you would know that my camera deleted all the photos from agenda. WELL! I am pleased to announce (and show) that I was put up on game about software that can recover accidentally deleted photos. Its called Card Rescue it can recover lost files pretty easily, its not free, but for $39.95 you can recover most of your pictures. More images after the jump

This year has been one to remember for all the wrong reasons. First the death of MJ (51) a legend of music, then Freddy B (18) a young, happy, good friend of ours and now a legend of skating Andy Kessler (49). I pray that 2009 has some very positive things in store to raise our spirits.

“A skateboard legend credited with establishing several of the city’s skate parks has died.

Friends say Andy Kessler, 49, designed several skate parks, including one at 108th Street and Riverside Park in Manhattan and another one in Brooklyn.

Some skaters call Kessler an inspiration for the city’s skateboarding community and say he was always visible at local skate parks.

“Andy was the original person that pushed for cooperation between skaters and the Parks Department, to get moving on supporting skateboarding throughout the five boroughs,” said friend Billy Rohan.

Kessler died unexpectedly after reportedly suffering an allergic reaction from an insect sting in Suffolk County.”- By: NY1 News
